It is not your fault💫 |Deepsikha Roy|
Often we come across various situations where women are always annoyed of their menstrual cycle. They sometimes wish if it would have never existed. They interrogate why only women experiences the anxiety and not men. If you are a woman reading this, you should know that the monthly cycle of yours which you are tired of, is what makes you a woman. Be proud, not reluctant.
One out of every third woman in this world suffer from period problems and one of the common reasons that has been emerging is a syndrome called PCOD, which most of us are unaware of. People must have heard the term before but it is high time that each and everybody should educate themselves about what PCOD is and what it can cause. If you are not suffering from it, it is an opputunity to rescue yourself. Lets briefly get an idea about the science behind the syndrome. I won't make it complicated I swear.
●Basically PCOD, which stands for Polycystic Ovarian Disease is a set of symptoms due to elevated androgens (male hormones) in women. But how does this happen? Actually the base of our brain has a pea sized pituitary gland that secretes luteinizing hormone (LH) which causes the ovaries to release an egg. In a PCOD women, this LH is always very high, which is accompanied by high level of insulin in the blood which is further accompanied by the increased male hormones in women. This whole hormonal disbalance causes multiple bags of fluids(or cysts) to form in the ovary. The main point of concern should not be these cysts but the disproportion of the hormones which leads to this.
●The hormonal imbalance due to excess of androgens in the body causes a variety of short term and long term effects. In short term it causes irregular periods, sometimes women don't get their periods for months at a stretch. It also causes facial hair growths and depression. High level of insulin in the body causes exremely low metabolism which is responsible for weight gain. In long term PCOD can also cause infertility, if not taken care of.
●Sometimes taking a variety of medicines and pills only pacify the symptoms for a while and doesn't tap the root cause. There are no defined reasons behind PCOD but doctors say that it is caused due to the change in lifestyle in the recent years. In the last decades, our manner of living has completely changed. We are more focused on junk foods rather than a healthy diet. Most importantly we are not exerting ourselves in any ways. PCOD is just a signal that there is something wrong going on in the system and you just have to act on it by maintaining a healthy diet and exerting yourself regularly. I repeat, exert yourself regularly.
~I myself is suffering from PCOD and after many experiences and researches I am finally able to share what works best in this scenario. I personally take one tea spoon of apple cyder vinegar with warm water every morning which is helping me in shedding weight and improve the symptoms of PCOD.
●☆If you are a woman reading this and suffering from the same, let me tell you, the whole hormonal disparity in your body is not at all your fault. It is just an indication that it is the time to get a good and healthy lifestyle once again.
